Statement of Faith

CELEBRATING MARRIAGE is a Christian, Bible-based marriage and family ministry helping couples before and after their marriage vows.  As such we believe in the following foundational principles:

 THE BIBLE – We believe the Holy Bible to be the inspired Word of God, infallible, trustworthy, and the final authority in all matters of faith and conduct. (II Timothy 3:16, I Peter 1:23)

 ONE GOD – We believe in one God, the Father, invisible, all powerful, eternal, omni-present, all knowing and everlasting, who has revealed or manifested himself through and in his only begotten son, Jesus, born of a woman, yet very God, who died for our sins on the cross and rose again from the dead on the third day, triumphing over death, hell and the grave, giving us hope of eternal life through his shed blood and who indwells, comforts, and empowers true believers on earth today by and through His Holy Spirit – “Christ in you, the hope of glory!” ( I Corinthians 8:6, I Timothy 2:5, St. John 1:18, St. John 3:16, II Corinthians 5:19, St. John 14:7-9 Galatians 4:4, Colossians 1:15, Colossians 1:27, St. John 14:16-18)

SALVATION – We believe that man was made in the image of God and is the crown of God’s creation.  Yet, by reason of man’s disobedience in the beginning, he is now spiritually depraved and alienated from his creator. Man can only be reconciled back to God through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ, who shed his blood as atonement for our sins. (Ephesians 2:1-10, II Corinthians 5:17-19, Hebrews 9:22-28)

 MARRIAGE – We believe that in the beginning God instituted marriage between one man and one woman.  He who created them from the beginning made them male and female and said, “For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife; and the two shall become one flesh.  What therefore  God has joined together, let no man separate.” (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6)

CHILDREN AND THE FAMILY- We believe that children are the heritage of the Lord and precious in his sight.  How blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them.  Through the first marriage of Adam and Eve, God formed the first family.  God blessed them and said to them, “be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” (Genesis 1:28, Psalm 127:3-5, Matthew 19:13-15)
